Bocas del Palo again
Friday morning, I left at about 5:30 a.m. with Juan Carlos for the little town of Bocas del Palo in JamundÃ. It’s like going back in time. It’s a small village along the Rio Cauca of all black people. There is no grocery store. Really, no store at all. No place to buy bottled water except the discotheque at night on the weekends. I had no water until I got back to Cali this afternoon. I drank juices, a couple that I’d never had or even heard of. I took a lot more photos of people and life there. I’m trying to get a good representation of the town for an upcoming show at the main Cali library gallery. I will probably only need 25 or 30 photos for the show. This photo shows the main street in the town. More to come tomorrow.
